Time Warp

When people tell you 'once you have a baby, there isn't much time to do anything', they are wrong.  Not only there's not enough time, time actually passes right by in an accelerated speed of light, as if you are continuously having a time deficit!  And to realize that, what supposed to be a matter of hours before our boy's first doctor's appointment, it literally felt like a matter of seconds.

OH, and packing in the morning, right before taking off to the doctor's is a VERY VERY bad idea...  LUCKILY, we had an experience nanny to the rescue, everything was a snap snap to her.  No wonder she moves like someone from the Matrix, because there's only so much that you can do within a given time, speeding up is the only way.

The doctor's appointment went well, doctor told us our boy's weight hasn't climb up much but that it is normal, and that we should pay the doctor another visit within a couple days.  Besides that of course, our sneaky little boy wouldn't have missed the chance to pee at his dad during the appointment. BUT, it was all good, as long as he was able to flood out what he needed to, a few spray here and there on my clothes just doesn't bother me.  Keep it coming you little shooter :)

Home Sweet Home!

It was the third day since our boy arrived.  Due to the lack of rest and space at the hospital, plus that my wife is healing at a rather good speed, we had much anticipation in discharging from the hospital ASAP.

Now anyone who has the experience in staying at a hospital knows, to discharge from a hospital, the doctor and nurses are required to approve various test results.  Being a bit intimidated by one of the (actually really kind, cuz a couple of them weren't too patient) nurses, I brought our boy to her for hearing test.

Nurse in a deep voice: Okay, let me tie up your boy so he won't try helping me, because we both know it is better if he doesn't try helping.

I smiled: sounds good.

Nurse: Any family history of hearing problems?

I couldn't hear her: Sorry?

Nurse: Any hearing problems that runs through the family?

I heard her this time: No no everyone hears well... *long pause*... Oh, that wasn't a good indicator...haha...

Nurse smiles: I was just about to point out!

After numerous tests and several hours of waiting, we were ready to go!  The same kind nurse is the master of car seats.  She got rid of the unnecessary paddings, and taught us that babies are more secure without all the extra clothing and padding.

Right before we left, she said to my wife - "See you in 3 years?  No, 2 years!"

My wife smiled: haha, maybe 3!

Me: O__O!!

Exhaustion and the LITTLE Surprise

Sharing a bedroom isn't always pleasant, especially when you have to share a room at the hospital with hungry newborns plus a few drained out parents.

I am a decently calm and patient person, but having our roommates dragging their chairs around plus talking and snoring un-considerably loud here and there between 11 pm to 3 in the morning, I asked our roommates politely if they could possibly keep it down a little.  Perhaps we were all tired, our roommates did not take it well which got me going with them for another good 10 mins.  Thank goodness they eventually kept it down (or I was way too exhausted to hear them), and that they discharged the next day.  Regardless, I prayed that everything went well for them.

That was the exhaustion part of the day, what was the little surprise waiting for me?  My dear little son's first diaper change!

At a first glance - "diaper's wet".  Took a closer look - "okay just pee, first time diaper change isn't all that ba..." and BAM!  Like squeezing a tube of toothpaste, the "surprise" was ALL over my hand.  My wife got mad at me for the big commotion, and even though I was exhausted, I naturally smiled at my hand and thought - "Thanks for the surprise you little sneaky one!"

So Life Begins :)

After 9 long months of waiting and prep-ing (plus the long wonder of how our boy looks like), the wait is finally over, our cute little boy begins his exploration outside of his mother's womb.

It hasn't been easy to find the time to start this record keeping and 'funny' sharing daily log before the baby was born, so it isn't foresee-ably easy to start now and keep this up on a daily basis.  From a 'BaBa' (father's) perspective, I am intended to update events of our boy's every little move here, so down the road we can all come back and reminisce our little hero's 'works'.
