It was the third day since our boy arrived. Due to the lack of rest and space at the hospital, plus that my wife is healing at a rather good speed, we had much anticipation in discharging from the hospital ASAP.
Now anyone who has the experience in staying at a hospital knows, to discharge from a hospital, the doctor and nurses are required to approve various test results. Being a bit intimidated by one of the (actually really kind, cuz a couple of them weren't too patient) nurses, I brought our boy to her for hearing test.
Nurse in a deep voice: Okay, let me tie up your boy so he won't try helping me, because we both know it is better if he doesn't try helping.
I smiled: sounds good.
Nurse: Any family history of hearing problems?
I couldn't hear her: Sorry?
Nurse: Any hearing problems that runs through the family?
I heard her this time: No no everyone hears well... *long pause*... Oh, that wasn't a good indicator...haha...
Nurse smiles: I was just about to point out!
After numerous tests and several hours of waiting, we were ready to go! The same kind nurse is the master of car seats. She got rid of the unnecessary paddings, and taught us that babies are more secure without all the extra clothing and padding.
Right before we left, she said to my wife - "See you in 3 years? No, 2 years!"
My wife smiled: haha, maybe 3!
Me: O__O!!
